Kate Rasheed

Wakefield Sports + Exercise Medicine Clinic is pleased to welcome Kate Rasheed, who will commence consulting within our city rooms from the 14th of July 2026.

Kate Rasheed is a Clinical Psychologist with a passion for athlete wellbeing, youth mental health, and the connection between sport, performance, and psychological wellbeing. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Sport and Mental Health and has experience working alongside athletes, sporting organisations, and young people in both clinical and high-performance environments.

Kate has a special interest in supporting athletes at every level, from community participation through to elite competition. She helps individuals develop resilience, confidence, emotional wellbeing, and the psychological skills needed to perform both on and off the field. She also enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety and phobias, depression, OCD, stress and burnout, body image concerns, eating disorders, emotion regulation difficulties, and relationship challenges.

Kate's approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and tailored to each individual. She primarily draws on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), while integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Through her lifelong involvement in sport, including participation across a wide range of sports and leadership roles within sporting communities, she understands the unique pressures faced by athletes, coaches and sporting communities, and is passionate about helping people achieve both optimal wellbeing and performance. Kate is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for people of all body types, neurotypes, and LGBTQIA+ identities.
