Congratulations Olympians

Congratulations to all who made the 2008 Beijing Olympics such a memorable event. It was a showcase of the world's best athletes and a credit to the host country.
The Australian team acquitted itself well, yet again, and continues to punch above its weight class, so well done Aussies!
The Wakefield Sports Clinic would especially like to congratulate its Olympic Teams - The Olyroos, and Triathlon and Beach Volleyball Teams for flying the flag with honor. We are very proud of you.
We are also very proud of practitioners Dr Marc Cesana (Olyroos), Dr James Ilic (Beach Volleyball), Physio Jason Swan (Beach Volleyball) and Sports Psychologist Matti Clements (Triathlon & Beach Volleyball) for their contributions to the preparation and performance of these teams and their Olympic journey.

The Wakefield Sports Clinic is a multi-disciplinary clinic, providing sports medicine services for the prevention and treatment of sports injuries.  The practitioners include:

We work together to assist active people (of any level) in having a safe and easy return to sport.

A doctor's referral is not necessary for primary treatment by our Sports Doctors, Physiotherapists or other practitioners.  However, a doctor's referral will be required to see an orthopaedic surgeon.

At the Wakefield Clinic, 270 Wakefield St Adelaide, we are lucky to have access to radiology and pathology services on-site.  This enables us to organise your scans and blood tests in one convenient location.

The Wakefield Sports Clinic also provides an acute injuries service on Saturdays and Sundays during the peak seasons (April - September).  Sports Doctors assess fractures, sprains, strains or ruptures and can schedule follow-up appointments with an orthopaedic surgeon the following Monday if required.  These conveniences certainly reduce waiting times!

Alternatively the team doctor or general practitioner can refer directly to the specialist Orthopaedic Surgeons within the Clinic.  Physiotherapists, Sports Trainers, Teachers and First-Aiders can make use of pre-printed injury communication pads available from Wakefield Sports Clinic reception.
